  	Doris Fulton Childress, 58, of Holcombe Drive, Liberty, formerly of Easley, died Friday, March 31, 2000, at Palmetto Baptist Medical Center. Doris was born in Pickens County, a son of Mrs. Maude Lee Nix Childress of Liberty, and the late Arthur Childress. He attended Easley High School and also the First Baptist Church of Liberty, as well as many other churches in the area. Doris was well known throughout Pickens County, and was the official "Bell Ringer" for Easley High School and later for Liberty High School at area football games. He had an article written about him in Sports Illustrated Magazine. Surviving in addition to his mother are three brothers and sisters-in-laws, Edward and Florence Childress of Easley, Milton and Peggy Childress of Easley, and Billy and Carol Childress of Spartanburg; and a sister, Shelby Bagwell of Cocoa, Fla. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday in th chapel of Robinson Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. Clark Ford and Dr. Roger Couch. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park. The body is at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today. Memorials may be made to Better Skills, 101 NE Main St., Easley, SC 29640.
