  	Melvin Theodore Moyers, 88, of Athens passed away Saturday, March 3, 2012. Mr. Moyers was born Jan. 3, 1924, in Limestone County to Albin T. Moyers and Lydia Clement Moyers. Services for Mr. Moyers are at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 6, at Sardis Springs Baptist Church. Visitation will be from 1-1:45 p.m. Tuesday, at the church. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery with Tim Keenum and Jack Bailey officiating. Limestone Chapel Funeral Home is handling arrangements. Mr. Moyers was a member of Sardis Springs Baptist Church. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and retired from Solutia where he worked for 28 1/2 years. He is survived by his wife, Bettie Moyers; son, Glenn Moyers and wife Frances Delores; daughter, Linda Moore and husband John; grandchildren, Tammy Delyn Bailey and husband John, Michael Glenn Moyers and wife Ulli, John Moore III and wife Misty and Brent Melvin Moore and wife Helen; eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Pallbearers are the active deacons at Sardis Springs Baptist Church. Honorary pallbearers are Jerry Newby's Sunday school class.
