A Funeral service will be at 1:00 PM on Saturday at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Sammy Brister and Rev. Billy Taylor officiating. Burial will be in Gatlin Cemetery, Ardmore, AL. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Jenkins, Dale Patterson, Nelson Rogers, Wayne Culps, Ben Curry, and Bob Milner. The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday, November 13, 2009, at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home, Ardmore, Alabama. Born Wednesday, March 28, 1923 in Ardmore, Tennessee, he was the son of the late Roy Rogers and the late Birdie Watson Rogers. He was an Army Air Force Veteran of World War II. He was a member of Ardmore First Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife: Minnie Culps Rogers, a sister: Lillian Rogers, and an infant grandchild. Survivors include his wife: Ethel Rogers of Ardmore, TN; son, Wilson (Carolyn) Rogers, Jr. of Chapel Hill, TN, daughter, Kathy (Ronnie) Curry of Taft, TN, step-daughters: Shirley (Ricky) Smith of Fayetteville, TN, and Vonna (Terry) Holder of Huntsville, AL, sisters, Ruby Helums of Ardmore, AL and Nell Rogers of Ardmore, AL, Nine Grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; 2 step-grandchildren; and a host of friends, Nieces and Nephews.
