Services will be in the Church of Christ of Stratford Wednesday at 2 pm. Mr. J. E. McClaren, minister of the church, will officiate. Burial will be in McGee Cemetery. Mrs. Brown was born May 18, 1867 at Eggharbor, New Jersey. On December 24, 1891 she was married to Andrew Newton Brown in Huntsville, Alabama. They made their home in Texas several years before moving to Oklahoma in 1910, settling near Pauls Valley. In 1942 they moved to Stratford. Mr. Brown died July 31, 1957.
Mrs Brown joined the Church of Christ in 1919. There were five children born to the couple, two sons, Robert, Stratford; and Pete Brown, Hart Texas; and three daughters, Mrs Earl Simmons, Stratford; Mrs. C. N. Webster, Mineral Wells, Texas; and Mrs Lillie Malone, deceased. She also leaves two foster sons, Wayne Updegraff, Oklahoma City; and Willis Beltz, Theadore, Alabama, 16 grandchildren, 49 great-grandchildren and eight great-great- grandchildren.
