  Obituary	Marlin Porter, 87, of Lampasas died Saturday, Feb. 2, at his home. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Briggs-Gamel-Wilcox Funeral Home in Lampasas with the Rev. Jim Standard officiating. Burial will be in Smith Cemetery in Kempner. Mr. Porter was born in Sweatout in Lampasas County to Virgil Porter and Alga Hutcheison Porter. He had lived in Lampasas County all of his life. He was a farmer and rancher. He married Orean Lindsey on June 22, 1935, in the Lampasas County Courthouse. He was a member of the Agriculture Stabilization Commission for 17 years. Survivors are his wife, Orean Porter of Lampasas; three sons Maylon Porter of Lometa, Melvin Porter of Kingsland and Jimmy Porter of San Angelo; a daughter, Arleta Green of Lampasas; two brothers, L.A. Porter of Lampasas and Clayton Porter of Eldorado; four sisters, Neva Machen and Reba Weeks, both of Lampasas, Alena Hutchison of Dilley and Edna Carroll of Tucson, Ariz.; 14 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be 3-5 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Second Baptist Church of Lampasas Building Fund.
