The name is listed on America's marriage license as Culp although several other records spell it Culps. Her father, Henry, listed himself as Culp. She is listed in the 1980 Limestone County Census as being 11 months old. She attended school through fourth grade at Cedar Hill where her grandmother, Mary Jane SMITH Clement was the teacher. At age 14 she is listed among those who made up the Membership List of the Piney Grove Baptist Church of Christ where she is listed as: " A. C. (?) Culps by Experience and Baptism September 1, 1893." This is her childhood church and that of her Clement grandparents.

As a teenager America lived with her Aunt Tennessee at the home of her grandparents at Cedar Hill, to help care for her grandfather, Stephen Clement. On November 26, 1896 she was married in that home to Julius Kull, an emigrant from Switzerland via Chicago, IL. His nickname was "Merick". The name of the minister was: J. W. "Euley" Johnston.

America lived as a housewife and helped on the farm that her husband homesteader, just south of the Tennessee, Alabama border in Madison County, Alabama. In 1920, she went with her husband and children to live in Chicago. She missed her family; so, they returned home to Madison County, Alabama.

For a few years she continued to run a small part time general store across the road from her home, in Tennessee. It was the remnant of a larger business that had been run by two of her sons in the 1930's. America was known as a person with a sweet disposition. She was greatly loved by her church family at Macedonia Church and the Ardmore, Alabama church in Limestone County, AL. The land for Macedonia church was donated by her sister-in-law, Louisa Kolle Culp. Most of the family members living in Madison County attend there.

America died in a nursing home in Athens. She is buried in Delap/Clement Cemetery; the land deeded for a cemetery by her grandmother, Sarah Jane SMITH Clement, in her will in 1893. She is buried next to her husband of 69 years, a few steps from her parents, Mary and Henry Culps. Also, a few steps from her grandparents, Sarah Jane and Stephen Clement. Near by is thought to be the grave site of her great grandmother, Mary H. PHILLIPS Smith-Kaeiser. However, there is no head stone at the grave site. Mary Kaeiser and her two daughters, Martha Hamilton and Mary Jane Clement acquired the land in 1846 by a deed of gift made in 1836 by Mary's second husband, George Kaeiser.
