    • PICKENS, SC - Geneva Nix Masters Whitmire, 70, of 116 Oaks Court, died May 3, 1998, at her home after a period of declining health.

      Born May 12, 1927, in Pickens County, she was a daughter of the late Henry and Eula Lee Nix of Pickens.

      She was an employee of Sir Shirtmaker for more than 20 years and an active member of Cannon Memorial Hospital Auxiliary until she became ill. She was a member of Roanoke Baptist Church, Adult Married Sunday School Class and Golden Age Group.

      Survivors: daughters, Mrs. Benny (Martha Masters) Seaborn of Easley, Mrs. Gary (Nancy Masters) Ellenburg of Liberty; sons, Frank D. Masters, Jimmy D. Masters of Sunset, Douglas J. Masters of Liberty; brother, James Nix of Anderson; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.

      Predeceased: first husband, Woodrow Masters of Liberty; second husband, Ralph Whitmire of Easley; grandson, Shane Masters of Liberty; twin great-granddaughters, Hannah and Micah Phillips of Easley; sisters, Jessie Durham, Bertha Robinson; brothers, Clarence Nix, Guy Nix.

      Visitation: 1 to 2 p.m. today at Dillard Memorial Funeral Home, Pickens.

      Services: 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home with the Revs. Jack Shook and Randy McAlister officiating. Burial: Hillcrest Memorial Park.

      Pallbearers: Chris Ellenburg, Ralph Nix, Kevin Phillips, Bart Rogers, Ken Smith, Michael Welborn.
