  	PICKENS, SC - Walter Reece, 87, of Hagood Mill Road, Star Route, died Wednesday. He was born in Transylvania County, North Carolina. A son of the late John S. and Ada Cantrell Reece. He was a retired farmer and textile worker. A veteran of World War I and a member of Bethany Church of God. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Elvie Anderson Reece, one daughter, Mrs. Lillie Mae Kelley of Greenville; two sons, Raymond R. Reece of Townville and Horace W. Reece of Greer; three sisters, Mrs. Mary R. Nix, Mrs. Alice R. Roach and Mrs. Louise R. Porter, all of Pickens; four brothers, Thomas Reece, Duke Reece, Johnny Reece and Henry Reece, all of Pickens; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 4 PM Saturday at the Bethany Church of God. Officiating ministers will be Rev. Charles Goss, Rev. Frank Pearson and Rev. Larry Anderson. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park in Greenville. Pallbearers will be Richard Sanders, Kit Carson, Fred Anderson, Clarence Nix, Heyward Porter, Harold Stewart, and Harvey Reece. The Honorary escort will be the Men of Bethany Church of God. The body is at the Dillard Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 7 to 9 PM Friday. The family will be at the home of Mrs. Hoyt Anderson on Hoyt Anderson Road.
