  	The funeral for Charlie Eugene Phillips, 90, of Athens was Monday, June 2, 2008, at McConnell Funeral Home with Greg Patrick officiating. Burial was in Roselawn Cemetery.Mr. Phillips died Saturday, May 31, 2008, at Athens Convalescent Center. He was born March 15, 1918, to George Mathew Phillips and Liddy Kull Phillips. He was a Baptist. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and the Korean War.He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Fred Phillips. He is survived by his wife, Margie Owen Phillips of Athens.
