    • FAYETTE Biddie Duckworth White, age 91, of Fayette, passed away June 17, 2009, at DCH Regional Medical Center. Services will be 2 p.m. today at Norwood Chapel with Bro. Tim Tindle officiating. Burial will follow in Old Union Cemetery with Norwood Chapel of Fayette directing.

      Mrs. White was born February 28, 1918, in Fayette. She was the daughter of the late Joe Allen and Doshia E. Duckworth. She was a resident of the Kirkland community for many years and was a resident of the Mt. Vernon community for the past 24 years. She formerly worked in the lunchroom for Kirkland School and Fayette Elementary School for a number of years. She was a gifted cook and gardener. Mrs. White was a loving Christian mother that lived her life in a way that influenced her family and friends as a role model.

      In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William S. White, two sons, W.D. White and Bobby White, her grandchildren, Dana Lynne Gray and Abigail Sylvianna Clark, and 10 brothers and sisters.

      Survivors include two daughters, Pat Gray (Garland) and Cynthia Canterbury (Rex); two sons, Joe Wayne White (Carolyn) and O'Neal White (Jeanette); a daughter-in-law, Brenda White; 12 grandchildren, Mark A. White (Ronda), Denise Gray Tindle (Tim), Tina White Folse (Kent), Tiffany G. White, Tonia W. Tewell (Randy), Paige W. Sanchez (Art), Michelle W. Clark (Wil), Christie W. Carlo (Philip), S. Jason Gray (Mary Lynn), Scott D. Canterbury (Wendy), Kim W. Gray (Joey), and Adam S. Canterbury (Cameron); and 21 great-grandchildren.

      Pallbearers will be Scott Canterbury, Philip Carlo, Warren Odell, Jason Gray, Adam Canterbury, Wil Clark, and Joey Gray.

      Honorary pallbearers are Mark White and Clay White.
