• Notes

  William arrived in Madison County by two covered wagons pulled by oxen. He settled in the Northernmost part of Madison County on what is now Stateline Road/Macedonia area with a 156 acres documented in a Land Trust Deed dated 1894. He was a farmer and came here with his wife Minnie and his children who wore born in Indiana: Louisa, Dorothy (Tinnie), Julian, Edward, William and John. Sons Henry and Louie were born after arriving. William came from the Evansville Indiana area. His brother Henry remained up north and owned a rice farm and business. Henry must have done well for himself for my grandmother remembers his visits to Alabama were in a car with a driver. Henry did marry but don't think he had children.
