Notes - Hillsman Bledsoe was a Private in C Company, 4th Regiment TN Mounted Infantry for the Union Army in the Civil War. He was 18 years of age, 5 feet 10 inches tall, had fair complexion, blue eyes and light hair at the time he enlisted on 20 Sep 1864 in Shelbyville, Bedford Co., TN. He was mustered out at Nashville, TN on 25 Aug 1865. He listed his occupation as farmer before his military service.
"He moved to Lincoln Co., TN in 1867, to Giles Co, TN in 1879, to Pettusville, AL in 1889, to Farmer's Branch, TX in 1892, to Chestnut Ridge, TN in 1896." He listed his occupation as wood workman in 1904. This information taken from his Civil War Pension records.

Thursday, 8 Feb 1859
This day, Hillsman Bledsoe appeared in open court and was appointed guardian of Preston L. and Hillsman Bledsoe and as such entered into bond in the sum of $100 with J.M. Neely as his security-which bond being duly acknowledged in open court and was by this court approved and ordered to be recorded. It is further said that Hillsman Bledsoe pay the cost of this cause for which executed and issued.
