      EASLEY, SC - Albert Leroy Skelton, 88, of 268 Yeoman Drive, died Tuesday, June 17, 2003, at Palmetto Health Baptist Easley.

      Born in Pickens County, a son of the late Fletcher A. "Red" and Buggie Masters Skelton, Mr. Skelton retired from Southern Pile Bleachery and was of the Baptist faith. He served with the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II.

      Surviving are a sister, Frances Skelton, of Easley; a nephew, Stanley Skelton, and his wife, Jo Lynn, of Taylors; a g reat-nephew and niece, Grant and Stacy Skelton, of Taylors; and a sister-in-law, Ruby Phillips, of Greenville. In addition to his parents, Mr. Skelton was predeceased by a brother, Curtis E. Skelton, and a sister, Elsie S. Thompson.

      Graveside services will be at 4 p.m. today at Hunts Memorial Baptist Church Cemetery, with the Rev. Garland Sentell officiating.

      The body is at Robinson Funeral Home -Downtown, where the family will receive friends from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. today, before the service.

      Memorials may be made to Hunts Memorial Baptist Church, 501 Alex Drive, Easley, SC 29640.

      The family is at the home of his sister: Frances Skelton, 238 Yeoman Drive, Easley. -- Robinson Funeral Home, Downtown, is assisting the family with arrangements.
