    • Easley, SC - F. A. (Red) Skelton, 75, of Route 2, Easley, in the Cross Roads community, died Tuesday at 5:15 p.m. at his home after three years of declining health and three days of illness.

      A native of the Pea Ridge section of Pickens County, he was a son of the late James M. and Frances Atkinson Skelton. He was a retired farmer and textile operator and lived in Pickens county all of his life except for six years when he lived in Anderson. He was a member of Lawrence Chapel Methodist Church. His wife, Mrs. Buggie Masters Skelton, died in 1944.

      Surviving are two sons, Albert L. Skelton of the home and Curtis E. Skelton of Greenville; two daughters, Miss Frances K. Skelton of the home and Mrs. F. P. Barton of Travelers Rest; two sisters, Mrs. J. N. (Essie) Edens of Route 2, Marietta, and Mrs. A. L. (Bessie) O'Shields of Forrest Bridge Road, Greenville; and a grandson.

      Funeral services will be conducted at Hunts Memorial Baptist church Thursday at an hour to be announced. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

      The body will be at the home after 3 p.m. Wednesday.

      Robinson Funeral Home is in charge.
