      Charles M. "Bunk" Higginbotham, 77 of Ardmore, Tennessee died on Thursday, May 24, 2012, at Lincoln Care Center in Fayetteville, Tennessee.

      Born Monday, October 22, 1934 in Athens, Alabama, he was the son of the late D.M. Higginbotham and the late Willie Mae McDonald Higginbotham. He was a lifelong resident of the Ardmore area. He served as a Deacon for over 30 years and was a member of Elkton Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing, cattle farming, and spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife: Martha Nell Ferguson Higginbotham.

      Surviving are his wife: Rosie Curry Higginbotham of Ardmore, TN, sons, Jeffery (Lynn) Higginbotham of Mount Juliet, TN and Charles W. (Linda) Higginbotham of Ardmore, AL, step-sons: Barry (Jean) Curry of Prospect, TN and Bobby (Tracy) Curry of Moulton, AL, daughter, Frances (Tracy) Cross of Elkmont, AL, step-daughters: Janice (Danny) Davis of Prospect, TN and Tammie (Sonny) Miller of Prospect, TN, sister, Martha Ann Whitt of Huntsville, AL, sixteen grandchildren, and 21 great-grandchildren. [NOTE by IMM, Several of these grandchildren and great grandchildren are from the Curry side and not the Higginbotham side.]

      Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM on Sunday at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home, Ardmore, Alabama with Bro. Sammy Brister officiating. Burial will be in Gatlin Cemetery, Ardmore, AL. Pallbearers will be grandsons and honorary pallbearers will be David Hardiman, Erskin Higginbotham, Doug Higginbotham, and Ray Higginbotham.
