  Obituary	John Alton Whitt of Ardmore died May 17 at his grocery store near Ardmore of an apparent heart attack. He was 61 years old. Services were May 19 at Rainey's Funeral Home, with the Rev. Glenn Hester and the Rev. R. B. Kennedy officiating. Burial was in Gatlin Cemetery in Madison County, Ala. [Should have said Limestone County, AL] A native of Lincoln County Mr. Whitt operated his grocery store on Highway 110 for many years. Mr. Whitt was a member of the Woodmen of The World and of the Cash Point Baptist Church. Survivors include his widow Mrs. Irene Whitt of Ardmore; a son John T. Whitt of Huntsville; [should have listed daughter Emma Lou Hargrave of Ardmore, TN];stepson, Bobby Minor of Ardmore; a brother, Robert Whitt Ardmore; four sisters, Mrs. Alma Helums, Mrs. Minnie Mae Ferguson, both of Ardmore, Mrs. Florence Maddox of Fayetteville and Mrs. Lucille Hicklin Nashville and five grandchildren.
