The service was Friday at Taylor Funeral Home in Ardmore with the Rev. William Suddarth officiating and burial was in Gatlin Cemetery.
A native and lifelong resident of Lincoln County, he was the son of the late Andrew and Maggie Ferguson Whitt. Mr. Whitt was a retired farmer.
Survivors include two sons, Roy Lee Whitt of New Hope and James (Gyp)Whitt or Ardmore; four sisters, Alma Helums and Minnie May Fergerson of Ardmore, Annie Florence Maddox of Fayetteville and Lucille Hicklen of Nashville; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
