  	Death came very suddenly to Edgar S. Parsons, 58, life-long resident of Athens, Monday, July 8, at 5:15 a.m. at his late home. Mr. Parsons was in apparent good health, having attending a singing Sunday at Tanner and remarked at bedtime that he had truly enjoyed the day. Upon going to call him to get up, his wife found him struggling for breath and called to a neighbor to summon the doctor but he arrived to late to render any aid. His death was attributed to a heart attack. Mr. Parsons was a fine man and well liked by scores of people, being very quiet and even tempered. He was an employee of Chambers Lumber Company for 23 years. The deceased is survived by his widow, Mrs. Mamie Parsons; one son, T. E. Parsons; two daughters, Mrs. Fred Raney and Mrs. R. E. Black, Detroit, Mich; one sister, Miss Idenia Parsons; and four grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday at the Methodist Church by Dr. B. T. Waites and interment was in the City Cemetery, McConnell directing. Woodmen of the World served as pallbearers.
