  ~I have a copy of a will of Mordica White of Bertie Co., NC. Will dated 13th day of May of 1776, proved Nov. 1779. Lists children: Abigail, William, Luke, Mordecai, John, Rebecca & Media. Grandchildren: Amos Weston and Sarah Gains, children of Rebecca White Gains. Grandson King White, son of John. King White married Martha Britt on 1/22/1788. Abigail White married Jethro Butler, Sr. They had a son Jethro, Jr. b. 1761, Bertie Co., NC. Mordecai was son of John and Sarah or Rachel. b. abt 1702 d. November 1779 in Bertie Co. NC His son also Mordecai White - posibly moved from NC to Frederick County Va around 1780 - if so died in VA 1824. ~Meedy (media) White lived in Bertie County ca. 1745 and later served as a private in North Carlonia during the Revolution. His will in Bertie Co. made Aug.31, 1799 and proved Nov.7, 1804 mentions a wife and the following children: Cader George William Ezekiel b.ca. 1744 RS Bertie Co., N.C. Rewben (Reuben) Judith who married a Mr. Ray Winnefred who married a Mr. Hale Kerrenhappuck who married a Mr. Sholar Amis (Amos) who married ? Mizell Did above Ezekiel White remove to Onslow or Duplin Co., NC? Did Ezekiel have a daughter, Mary? ~The following information was obtained from the N.C. Historical and Gen. Register; Vol. 2, Pg 552: White, Meedy, Aug. 31, 1799. Sons: Cader, George, William, Ezekial, and Reuben. Daughters: Judith Ray, Winnefred Hale, Kerrenhappuck Sholar, and Annie Mizell. The executors to the will were: John White, King White and Stephen White. Judith White married Henry Ray March 1, 1794, George White acted as bondsman. Meedy also known as Media and Meeds. Vol. 5, pg. 293 shows a Media White and wife Elizabeth selling land to a Edward Rice, 15 may, 1749. Vol. 2, No. 3, pg 362: White, Mordecai, May 13,, 1776, Sons: eldest William, Luke, Mordecai, John, Media. Daughters: Abagail Butler, Rebecca Gains. Grandsons: Amos Weston (son of Rebecca Gains) and King White (son of John). Granddaughter: Sara Gains (daughter of Rebecca Gains). Media came to Tuscaloosa Co., Alabama in abt 1824 from the Spartanburg District of South Carolina with his father John White and brothers Julius, Hiram, and Matthew. Last account of Media was the 1830 census of Tuscaloosa Co. ~Julius Caesar White b. April 10. 1802, Anderson, S.C. died January 18, 1885 Dexter, Cooke CO., TX buried in the County Line Cemetery at Dexter.
