He was born Thursday, December 6, 1917 in Elkton, Tennessee, to the late Elsie Rogers and the late Ethel Wilburn Rogers. He was preceded in death by his sisters: Mildred & Katie and brothers: Wilburn, James, Robert & Donnie. He lived in the Elkton community for 84 years before moving to Shelbyville. He loved his God, family, hunting, fishing, and sports. Survivors include his wife: Mary Culps Rogers; son, Nelson & Tena Rogers of Jackson, GA; daughter, Mary Francis & David Gordon of Shelbyville, TN; brother, John Rogers of Estill Springs, TN; sisters, Martha Newton of Ardmore, AL and Ruth Kurowski of Bartlesville, OK; grandchildren: Woody, Beckie, and Cindy of GA; and Neal, Karla, and Marla of TN; and thirteeen great-grandchildren.
