Born July 13, 1885, in Athens, Ala., Mr. Ruf had resided in Monett the last 50 years. He was a retired car department employee with the Frisco Railroad. His wife, Pauline Ruf, died in 1953.
Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Collie [Bertha] Hopper, Washburn, Mo., Mrs. Earl [Erma] Furlow, Fort Smith, Ark., Mrs. Walter [Louise] Cook, Anchorage, Alaska, and Miss Emma Marie Ruf, Kansas City, Mo.; three brothers, Richard Ruf and Willie Ruf, both of Athens and Carl Ruf, Elkmont; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. today at Buchanan Funeral Home. The Rev. Jon Kessier will officiate. The body will be transferred to Athens for final services at 4 p.m. Monday at McConnell Funeral Home Chapel, the Rev. Ronald Reinhardt officiated with burial in Germantown Cemetery.
