    • THOMAS J. WELCH passed away Wednesday, August 8, 2001. He was born in Brownsville, Texas on July 13, 1937, to Roscoe and Myrna Welch. Tom is survived by his wife Luanne; two sons, Thomas Gregory Welch and wife Julie of Conroe, Texas and Kevin Benjamin Welch of Lompoe, California; and daughter, Alison Ledbetter of McLean, Virginia. Survivors also include five grandchildren and two brothers, William Roscoe Welch and Jerry Lee Welch and his wife Kay, all of Austin, Texas. Tom graduated from the University of Texas with a B. A. in Mathematics and has worked as a geophysicist in the area os seismic processing and petroleum exploration for 37 years. Tom was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Houston and was active in the worship choir. Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 PM Thursday. Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Friday at the First United Methodist Church of Houston, 10570 Westpark, Houston, Texas 77042. Interment will follow at Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church Worship Center Choir or University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, P.O. Box 297153, Houston, Texas 77297-0153.
