239 Permission from John Goode (1807) to have liscense issued to a Harry Roland Adkins and Judith Good (my daughter) to marry. Witnessed by Robert Goode & Joseph Harden.
In book "Kentucky Land Warrants": Roland Adkins bought 50 acres, book Q, p 138, surveyed 3/18/1819, in Wayne Co. near Wolf Creek watercourse.

Glen Hill states Roland born March 11, 1784 VA. ?Also stated in letter from Adair Co.KY library.

also in letter: In the will of Roland Adkins he leaves land to his wife Judith; land to Wm and Roland (sons of Campbell#1son); land to his son Lindsey; land to his son Johnston; also land to: son Willis, dau Elizabeth Merrill, dau Nancy Brickens, dau Mary Reed, Roland (son of William #8), dau Ruth Winfrey. (Campbell #1 and William #8 both died before their father Roland).
From letter in KY library: The grand dau of Ruth Adkins has a deed in her file that reads as follows: By their deed dated August 15, 1823, "William and Polly
Adkins of the County of Adair, KY, to Rowland Adkins, of the Co of Adiar, KY, "conveyed land the boundaries of which were described in this manner: "Beginning at the maple and Hickary on Bryant's creek, thence S. 60 degrees, W 101 poles to a dogwood and hickary, thence S. 69 degrees, W. 192 poles to a beech and hickory on bank of Green River, thence N. 10 E. 50 poles to a buckeye and beech, thence 69 degrees W. 259 poles to the beginning." The above plus other information on Roland also appears in THE REPUBLICAN RECORD Nov.1, 1929 heading: RELICS OF THE PAST.

It is believed that Roland and Judith came to MO around 1828-29 since their 1st son, Campbell, was married in Ray Co in 1829 (Carroll was then a part of Ray Co.MO).
In 1850 Carroll Co. MO census: #268-268 Roland Adkins age 66 M VA $900.00 Farmer, see census. He lives near William and Joseph, thought to be brothers.
